Works sung is all updated!

I have finished updating the Works Sung page with all the information sent to me about past works; flyers, programmes, videos and photos.

Please go and have a look and enjoy. See how Vox has grown over the years, from the small crew performing The Messiah in 2009, to the charismatic community choir* we are today.

*or so Harvey says.

Take 1 foundling..

FoundlingTextileOur performance last term was themed around the Foundling Hospital and ideas of childhood and loss.

Jan (who organises the rota) sent me this link, to an online article by a friend about her research into 1 forgotten foundling from the hospital.

Vox are an inquisitive and thoughtful bunch, and we both thought you would enjoy reading it.

Very special guest Liane Carroll and her trio

will be accompanied by the 100 plus voices of VOX on original songs and standards

(Skylark, Memphis in June and others arranged by Harvey Brough)

The rest of the programme will consist of English Partsongs by Stanford and Sullivan, & Sea Pictures, Sir Edward Elgar’s masterpiece for Contralto and orchestra, newly arranged (last week) for choir, featuring Sir James McMurray playing Elgar’s elegant and elaborate piano part.
