In March 2020 Vox Holloway was due to return to Hackney Empire with its sell-out show, Freedom Song: When Gospel Came to the Empire. Sadly our live performance was postponed because of Covid-19. The story of Freedom Song – slavery, suffering, faith and redemption – resonates deeply with the meaning of Easter. It also reflects how something beautiful and transformational can emerge from great hardship and suffering and reminds us that the fight against global slavery is far from over. We hope you find it uplifting during this difficult period. We will be streaming the film of our full 2019 performance on our YouTube channel from midday on Friday 10 April to midnight on Sunday 12 April and again from midday to midnight on Sunday 19 and Sunday 26 April.
