Spring 2016 – A Hum About Mine Ears – join us!

Rehearsals for this term start on Tuesday 12 January with sign-up from 7pm for a 7.30pm singing start.  Here is some info if you are considering joining us for the first time.

This term we will be singing A Hum about Mine Ears, a composition by Clara Sanabras, based on Shakespeare’s The Tempest. Our performance will be in the Barbican on Sunday 6 March.

Mind and Soul Choir (director Lea Cornthwaite), Soloists Clara Sanabras (mezzo-soprano) & Nicholas Garrett (baritone). Conducted by Harvey Brough.

This term we will be singing “Music on the Mind”, a composition by Vox Holloway’s very own Justin Butcher and Harvey Brough, exploring the agonies and ecstasies of the unquiet mind through music.

A Fairy Dream by Harvey Brough
The Masque of the Four Seasons from Purcell’s Fairy Queen, interspersed with movements for children’s voices, with words from Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

The choir will be accompanied by a baroque orchestra of twelve and four outstanding soloists, Sophie Junker, Catherine King, Michael Solomon Williams and Nicholas Garrett.
Vox Holloway will be joined by junior voices: Young Dissenters and North Bridge House choir.
